MINERAL FOX HEADQUARTERs
BRIEF
The brief required a design and conversion of a heritage listed merchant building in The Rocks, Sydney as the new headquarters for Mineral Fox.

The brief required an office space for up to 10 employees, a reception, a breakout space, a kitchen and a meeting space. The challenge was to maintain the buildings original features. yet infuse a brand story into the design. The brief from the client emphasises the importance of connection - connection to other employees & the business. The Mineral Fox products are all about connecting with nature, as all of their products are made from minerals and natural materials - they are breathable plasters that are good for air quality and make you feel grounded. I wanted to ensure the design felt grounded by nature and connected by design.

DESIGN
The concept was inspired by the Mediterranean summer and colour palette. One of the first things I did to gain inspiration was to look at the logo for Mineral Fox and the play on curves and arches. Its a common theme across their branding and it could be incorporated into the design in a number of ways such as windows and doors, furniture - tables and chairs.

Curved walls, round furniture, organic shapes give you a sense of circling back or being hugged. Think built-in seating and banquette seating to encourage close connection.
